I'm gonna sit at the welcome table,
I'm gonna sit at the welcome table
one of these days, Hallelujah!
I'm gonna sit at the welcome table,
I'm gonna sit at the welcome table
one of these days.
The Mississippi Gulf Coast includes three counties along the Gulf of Mexico: Hancock, Harrison, and Jackson.
This area was hit hard by Hurricane Katrina in 2005, with many areas devasted. Following Katrina, many local groups came together to form the Steps Coalition “to build a democratic movement to create a healthy, just and equitable Mississippi Gulf Coast by developing local leadership, supporting communities to advocate for their needs and by facilitating communication, coordination, and collaboration…”

As the project continues, and beyond the Welcome Table retreat, we will include more information on activities and goals in the Gulf Coast region.
